The place was amazing! Perfect location right in the heart of old town melk. The room had all facilities and was super clean. Marina our host was fantastic! Hotel Schachner is located in the town of Maria Taferl, close to the basilica. It offers views of the Alps and the Danube River. Where to start? Amazing location with beautiful views. We could just sit and enjoy the views. Tasty food, we had breakfasts and dinners and the food was just great, rich variations, tasty vegetables and fruits, fine wine.. Staff was helpful, whatever we needed, they tried to help. There were a lot of small things, like you don't need to clean your room, you get the present, but all the small things make it to wonderful experience. Swimming pool was next to the second building of the hotel, just some meters to walk, there was refreshment, table tennis, bedminton.. We will come again, definitely.

Very nice place. The quality of the spa was unexpectedly fabulous, and appreciated after cycling for several days. Comfortable room and beds. Our dinner was very good, eating outside on their patio. Good breakfast and well set up for cyclists.

This family-run 4-star hotel lies hidden between the vineyards of the Wachau, about 900 metres west of the historic town of Dürnstein. We went in start of June and we love the peace and quiet in the hotel. The spa was relaxing and refreshing as well. It is our second time in the hotel since 6 years ago!
