Hoeve Roosbeek features luxurious rooms, cosy gastronomy and free WiFi in a restored farmstead, 15 minutes’ drive from Sint-Truiden. It features a garden terrace, bicycle or vespa rental. I took an art class 2 1/2 miles from this location so it was perfect for a short bike commute. With global warming, it was nice to have air conditioning as an option because most small countryside places in Belgium don’t necessarily have air-conditioning..

Hidden away behind a little cobblestone path, Freddy (the owner) has created a place that has everything you need to relax and wind down. Lots of space, both inside and outside, a swimming pond, a sauna and hottub, hammocks, BBQs and fireplaces. Surrounded by lush, green terrain abundant with birds and of course, the donkeys. I'll miss the sound of them... The surrounding areas are good for walking/cycling, but you won't find much in terms of bars/restaurants/shops. Whether that's good or bad depends on what you're looking for.

The house is very clean, warm, and comfortable. It has everything and even more. You don’t need to go to the thermal baths in the Spa: it has its sauna, hammam, and all the conditions for relaxation at the highest level. And most importantly, the wonderful owners of the house, Regine and France. They went above and beyond to make us feel at home. We want to come back here soon. Thank you very much for everything!
