Well-appointed. AC worked well. The bed and bedding were incredibly comfortable and I would wake up well-rested and ready for the day's adventures on this stunningly beautiful island. The breakfast was outstanding. Choice of pretty much everything you could want for breakfast. Alejandro made the coffees to perfection. The breakfast was so hearty that I didn't want anything for lunch. The grounds are extremely well-maintained and quite beautiful. Some of the fruit at your breakfast are courtesy of the fruit trees you will see on the grounds. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. They found out that it was my birthday and sang happy birthday for me at breakfast and gifted me with the most gorgeous necklace. Juan, at the reception area, deserves special mention for making my trip the best it could possibly be with many priceless tips about the incredible sites on the island. My trip would have been a lot less outstanding without his help. He also helped me to book a rental vehicle and organized prompt delivery of it. His English is impeccable. I highly recommend getting a rental vehicle. Driving there is uncomplicated. Waze and Google Maps don't always work - don't forget you're in one of the remotest places on Earth! But, not to worry, the people are very friendly and helpful and will go out of their way to help you find your destination. Such lovely, kind and welcoming folks! I'm a solo female traveler, with some mobility issues. I call 2 places "home"...The Republic of Trinidad & Tobago and The United States. The standards at this hotel are, on par with, and even higher than many places in the United States and Europe that fall into a similar price range. You definitely get your money's worth here.

The Hotel Palacio Astoreca, located in a charming historic building from 1923, a few meters from the Paseo Yugoslavo and in front of the city's Museum of Fine Arts, offers elegant rooms in its four categories with panoramic views of the city's hills and a large part of the city. from the bay, heated pool, hot tube and free WiFi connection. A wonderful boutique hotel ideally located in the heart of the historical district of Valparaiso. Catalina was very helpful in recommending different restaurants (the best was Maralegre which happens to be nearby). She even gave me some coins from her own wallet to take the ascensores as I did not have pesos with me. Everything served for breakfast is home made, and you can tell. I can only highly recommend this place when staying in Valparaiso

It was cold, no chance to try the swimming pool even been very welcoming Staff very well trained, nice, helpful and available at all times Hotel photos reflect exactly what you will find there upon arrival.
