Staff was very attentive and very friendly whoever you spoke to and they all made sure we had a good experience. The food was really good too. The newer area of the hotel was very nicely decorated and clean, and the old part of the estate still had a very cosy feeling, especially the bar in the "library" where we could sit and have a few drinks after dinner.

Located on Princes Street, The Balmoral has a 4 AA Rosette restaurant, a pool and a gym. Waverley Station and Edinburgh's main shopping area are within 5 minutes' walk. Everything was good. The staff was very friendly.

The food was another highlight—delicious meals, great pizza, and the complimentary high tea was an unexpected but delightful surprise! The location was ideal, with easy access to Loch Ness and Fort William, making it a perfect base for exploring the Highlands. We stayed in a spacious apartment lodge, which was exceptionally well-appointed. The rooms were large, the shower was great, and the bed was one of the best we've ever had—firm and supportive, unlike the overly soft springy mattresses we usually find in hotels. The furnishings were luxurious, with high-thread-count linens adding to the comfort. Overall, Hotel Black Sheep exceeded our expectations in every way. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing and indulgent Highland getaway!
