The drive to the Castle itself creates this anticipation as you meander through the beautiful countryside. You get this sense that you are travelling back in time. Easy access from Dublin via the motorway, about an hour and straight forward to navigate. The entrance speaks for itself. You will know what I mean when you arrive. The interior could not be presented in a manner more keeping with the castle and the atmosphere. Our room 105 has the best views of the entrance and the garden. I felt like a king for a weekend. The grounds are wonderful and a pleasure to experience with the river passing through the grounds. We enjoyed drinks at the bar, and in front of the roaring fire, a great selection of whiskeys and more. But the one top moment was when the head chief Pavol created what was the most delicious beef dish that I have ever had. Pavol mentioned how excellent Irish beef is but his skills turned it into a moment that my tastebuds probably will never know again. Great selection of wines for every taste. We enjoyed the thermal suite as a nice addition to the experience. The standard of care given by the staff was impeccable and left us with a delight that we had stayed for two nights. One would just not cut it. Enjoy.

I was staying for a wedding and everything was great. I had a note in my room welcoming me back after a previous stay which I thought was a lovely touch. Room was clear and had a lovely balcony over looking the courtyard.

Right from we arrived we had a great experience. Liam met us at the gates as the Women's Irish Open was on- he was jovial & chatty. Konstantina at reception was lovely, quickly checking all details & explaining a few things. Our room was lovely with a huge tv & a bath & shower in a good sized bathroom. We had our evening meal in Kathleen's Kitchen- a unique location...the old kitchen was great. The staff were lovely & helpful...the food, all 3 courses divine! We received a complimentary champers for our anniversary. Breakfast was also excellent back in Kathleen's Kitchen. We used the pool, jacuzzi & steam room in the spa. Despite the golf competition the atmosphere was relaxed & in fact we used our complimentary tickets to watch a bit & we went on the red & yellow walks around the grounds.

The sumptuous Villa Spa offers a range of indulgent health and beauty treatments, whilst the leisure centre has an indoor pool, 2 hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms and a fully equipped gym and exercise studio. The Hotel was incredibly spacious and spotless throughout. Our bedroom was delightful, with soft, high-quality bed linens and a bed that was wonderfully comfortable. The staff at the Hotel were outstanding, always warm, welcoming, and ready to assist. The large swimming pool was a great feature, offering a perfect place to unwind and go for a nice swim. Breakfast was also a highlight, with a wide range of delicious options to choose from, ensuring there was something for everyone. I highly recommend staying here and hope to return sometime in the future.

All guests have complimentary access to Village Thermal. Village Thermal, the simple French term for thermal baths — continues the outdoor theme, with two Finnish barrel saunas and accompanying hot tubs nestled in the lush greenery close to the Garden Room, adding to the thermal oasis shaded by the tall trees of the Cliff at Lyons grounds. Room was exceptional and a complimentary bottle of proseccco as it was our 30th Wedding anniversary was a lovely touch
