Boasting a spa and wellness centre, Hotel Emion Sapporo is situated in Sapporo in the Hokkaido region, 450 metres from Sapporo Station and 13 km from Shin-Sapporo Station. Perfect for a long stay in Sapporo — I wish I had stayed longer. Everything was perfect. The twin room we got was spacious, with large beds, a nice and clear view, and clean, quiet surroundings with easy access to Sapporo Station. The elevators were fast and reliable. There was daily free bottled water, cleaning and even a tote bag provided for shopping or onsen use. The bath towels and POLA toiletries were excellent — the shampoo is my new favorite! The pajamas were very comfortable, like a Muji style - wish I could take them home.

The staff were absolutely incredible; we had to have our bags shipped down to Osaka due to smaller stops in Tokyo and Mt Fuji (too short to be able to guarantee the bags would arrive on time) which is a crazy distance. The ladies at the Information Centre were able to explain the process for this and even drew us a map to get to the shuttle bus to the train station and encouraged us to take a jacket and do a practice walk the night before. The tour we booked was also fantastic, and the food and local beer was great too. The room was incredible; it was so affordable for the space you're given and relaxing in the onsen overlooking the ballpark was an unforgettable experience, they even have snacks and a bar! Everyone we came across was so lovely, even other people staying were interested to hear about our trip as it's not a common place to find foreigners.

Breakfast was great selection of foods. Ones was good both public and private. Toyota Rent-Car was just across from the hotel. Bus stop was just few minutes away from the hotel if you need to go Kutchan.

Boasting a fitness centre and a bar, Portom International Hokkaido is situated in Chitose, 100 metres from New Chitose Airport Onsen and 15 km from Salmon Hometown Chitose Aquarium. Well appointed rooms, large bathroom, good amenities. Extremely conveniently located within New Chitose Airport which was great for our overnight stay before heading to a ski resort the next day.
