It’s a new hotel, but also cozy and great quality. The bar was exceptional. The events organized were exceptional. We had a dinner with a Michelin star show, it was very memorable. The room service 24/7. The food was great. Already miss this place.

The best part was the staff! Everyone was incredibly warm and helpful, and worked hard to make sure we were comfortable and felt welcome.

Excellent stay! The hotel is ideal for relaxing and unwinding after a full day of sightseeing. The atmosphere, the tatami floors, the onsen, complimentary snacks/drinks, the massage chairs etc., etc. all work together so that it is easy to feel rested and ready for the next day of activities. Convenient laundry facilities, never had to wait more than a few minutes until a washing machine was available. Good location close to the station.

The room condition was great and spacious. We were with my 6 year-old son and only booked a wide double bed which was huge enough for three of us, but they provided us with an extra single bed at no cost which we appreciated very much. Also during the stay it was our wedding anniversary, and they prepared a present. How sweet of them!! This is new hotel, so all facilities are clean and well maintained. The location was perfect, we could walk to Bontoncho, Simo gawa, Nishiki Market and other places without any hassle. We definitely would stay here again when we come back to Kyoto. Opening in March 2014, Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei offers accommodations with a modern yet traditional décor. A good mix between traditional and modern. The bath area in the evening was perfect to relax and get rid of the stress of the day (walking, hiking and so on).
