I am so glad I booked this hotel. Everything is perfect, the location is basically in the heart of Kyoto. The hotel is surrounded by Japanese restaurants, cafes, interesting clothing shops and deli, like Lawson and 7/11. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. The hotel facilities are excellent, too. Very new and modern, the bed and pillows are super comfortable, will give you a good night sleep after a long day of sightseeing. Highly recommended Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Sanjo Premier.

The bed was very comfortable, the room was spacious and had a tea table and a couch. It even had an area/room for the luggages/wardrobe. the toilet was big- a vanity area, separate toilet, shower and a bathtub tub.We booked a 3 single beds corner room which was very comfortable. Absolutely spacious and well thought of design. The breakfast was a good variety of western and Asian cuisine, and had fresh salad, and they also served food that’s locally grown/farmed. Hotel was also environmentally conscious providing refillable stainless water bottles and a water filling station on each floor. The bath products provided were also organic and gentle on the skin and hair. The location was perfect! It is right next to Takashimaya and approx 70 meters away from the main crossing. It’s on the quieter side of the busy area. There is a small grocery on the ground floor selling local and home grown food, and many organic fruits and veggies. The hotel also has a few restaurants. We were only able to try Roku- a ramen place and we really liked it. The patisserie in the hotel was always full- many locals also go there for dessert/tea time. Across the hotel is a famous gyoza place called Chao Chao which always had a long queue. This is the best hotel I’ve stayed in Japan! I’ve been to Japan many times and I highly recommend this if you’re going to Kyoto and want to be centrally located. I will stay in this hotel again when I go back to Kyoto. The staff are very helpful, warm and friendly. They helped me in making a reservation for the airport bus from Kyoto to Kansai airport in Osaka. They also booked a van taxi for us since there were 3 of us with luggages.

The Thousand Kyoto features air-conditioned rooms with satellite flat-screen TV in the Shimogyo Ward district of Kyoto. Large comfortable modern rooms. Beautiful modern interior. Excellent location right next to Kyoto station for easy transfer to other cities and for day trips to places like Nara.

The location is perfect, the rooms are stylish and very comfortable (amazing pillows!!), and we really enjoyed the onsen :) There’s water dispensers and washing+drying machines which are very convenient. We also appreciated the fact that they kept our luggage before check-in and after check-out. All in all a great value for money. We didn’t have breakfast in the hotel because we found it too expensive (2200¥ per person) - maybe it would have been cheaper when booked together with the room? But we managed with the nearby shops such as Caffe Veloce, Hollys and Family mart.

Opening in March 2014, Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei offers accommodations with a modern yet traditional décor. Right in the center of Kyoto, also in the traditional neighbourhood so you can easily walk out of the hotel exploring various Japanese culture and food. The hotel itself is of strong Japanese style and it’s really clean, bright and spacious. The staff are very welcoming. Also we enjoy the indoor bath there. Defo an amazing place to stay.

The staff here was amazing!! Everyone was so kind and went beyond our expectations. The hotel itself is just stunning with the bamboo in the center and the interior design. Felt so relaxing and comforting. All of the room amenities were great! Must give a huge thank you to the restaurant staff - room service, bar service and breakfast service were INCREDIBLE! We couldn’t have had a better stay. I wish I was still there!
