This is THE best place in Yufuin. It was really easy to check in. Yes it's a bit further away from the city centre which makes it a bit more difficult to get to if you don't have a car (you can walk it or take a taxi up there) but it has the most epic view of the mountain. There are two onsens that everyone at the hotel can use, but they are effectively private as once you are in them you lock the door and you can have them to yourselves. The water is fantastic. Refreshing and makes you feel very relaxed. I would stay here at the drop of a hat again. Also make sure you walk up to Oogosha shrine (only 5 mins away) where you can get the experience of visiting a HUGE cedar tree temple and a bamboo forest that is 10x better than Arashiyama.

SEKIYA RESORT Galleria Midobaru offers a buffet or Italian breakfast. Love the property for its comfort and design. Rooms were big and spacious, and we managed to get a good rest. The onsen in the room is a huge plus, and the view was unforgettable.

Guests can also relax in the garden. The villa and maisonette experience was extraordinary, as both properties have unique views. The maisonette has lovely sea view and the villa has a beautiful small Japanese garden. Both properties are very private and the amenities are excellent. Although our stay was expensive in our view, it is worth the experience and we would love to return to this property again. We also love the private onsen which we used day and night and also we enjoyed wearing the traditional yukata and the thick overcoat which kept us warm during the buggy ride to the gahama seikai tower for breakfast. The breakfast spread was also very good. The housekeeper managed to retrieve my ear stud back button when i told them i lost it. Thank you for the wonderful service!

A gift shop and drink vending machines are available on site, and luggage can be stored at the 24-hour front desk for free. Sea views and breakfast was exceptional. Lovely Onsen!

The breakfast and dinner were both great and affordable. They even had a string quartet playing over dinner which was cool.
