The rooms are super comfy, the onsen is superb, the breakfast is wonderful, and the lounge floor is stunning. Apart from all that, the staff and their hospitality deserve a special shoutout.

Biwako Hanakaido features outdoor and indoor hot-spring baths, 3 dining options and rooms with a balcony and Lake Biwako views. It also has a garden and a sauna, while the lobby offers free WiFi. This place is a real gem for relaxation. Our room had a great view to the Biwa lake, comfy beds, and an open air bath. Our first dinner was a 10+ plate Kaiseki menu, and as our second dinner we chose crab shabu shabu, which was excellent as well. Tried public onsens (indoor and outdoor pools), private onsen, and massage. Wore Yukatas the whole time :) All public and private areas were exceptionally spacious. The staff were very welcoming. There was a shuttle to/from the nearest train station.

Room was comfortable and met my expectations. Was able to work at the desk without any issues. WiFi was good. They even offer complimentary drinks in the lounge. I arrived about an hour early and was able to check in right away and head to my room. Great hotel! Would definitely stay here again.

The resort is an older building, but spacious. Large clean and very comfortable rooms. Kind of customer oriented rather being profit oriented. There are much free selections available to all. The staff is great too. We truly enjoyed our stay.
