We had an absolutely wonderful stay – it truly is a dream destination. Every detail has been carefully taken care of by the owners, reflecting their dedication. What stands out the most is how they’ve managed to combine a sense of luxury with a laid-back, natural ambiance. It never felt overdone, but perfectly integrated with the surrounding nature, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere. The staff, both in the restaurant and in maintaining the property, were outstanding – attentive, professional, discrete and always smiling. We really appreciated the exceptional attention to every aspect. A truly unforgettable stay.

This stay was the best one in Sri Lanka - everything was perfect - delicious breakfast, tasty lobster for dinner, good wi-fi, always enough hot water, adapters to charge phones, wonderfully decorated place. Territory is amazing, clean swimming pool, lots of tropical plants. We remember days spent with this lovely family with pleasure.

Vegetarian, halal and vegan options can also be requested. Loved the location. Definitely the best hotel I have ever stayed in terms of design, architecture and location. Service of staff was very good. Every one of them were so friendly. Our waiter Kobinath at the main restaurant was excellent and very helpful. He makes the best tea in all of Lanka. Highly recommend to try his tea.

Set in Tangalle, 600 metres from Tangalle Beach, Ashansa Lagoon Resort offers accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, a garden and a private beach area. Among the various facilities are a terrace, a restaurant, as well as a bar. The accommodation provides a 24-hour front desk, airport transfers, room service and free WiFi. This was one of our favorite homestays in Sri Lanka. We booked last minute after a different local hotel cancelled the night before and we're so glad we ended up staying here. There seemed to be 4 rooms, each with a gorgeous view of the lake with large private balconies that had comfy chairs for relaxing in. The rooms were absolutely huge and pristine and had massive comfy beds and plenty of space for hanging clothes. We really appreciated having the fridge, and though there are only small local shops near by the manager sold us bottles of beer from the restaurant that we stored in the fridge and had on the balcony in the evening. Bliss! We also liked the spacious bathroom. The buildings are located in the most lush gardens which are very well maintained by a very smiley, friendly man. The Gardens are also hosts to a beautiful family of grey faced langurs (the nice kind of monkey), chipmunks and so many species of bird it was hard to keep count. A favorite activity was bird watching from the balcony in the early morning. Breakfast was in a raised platform that overlooked the lake and gardens and was so tranquil. We really enjoyed the fresh juice and fruit platters. The location of the accommodation is just a 5 minute walk from the beaches and the manager shared his whatsapp details and was helpful with booking tuktuks and turtle tours. There were peddle bikes available free to use and also kayaks for the lake. We had hired a tuktuk and this area was perfect for learning how to drive it, with long very quiet roads. On the odd occasion we couldn't start the tuktuk the manager was very helpful and supportive and got it started for us without us really having to ask. We didn't catch his name, but the manager was a gem and so very helpful. We only wish we could have stayed here longer! The local village is very quiet and peaceful, so this is the perfect location to really chill and enjoy nature and the slow pace of local life.

The Alpha Monkey hotel & Tree house offers a spa centre. The Alpha Monkey know how to do serenity and relaxation. Provided everything we needed and they make sure their guests are comfortable. Great to be away from the tourist track but a quick tuk tuk ride can get you to banks, shops, restaurants. This is the best place on this strip of coast.

Amazing people are working there, and they are always ready to help. It is a great place to stay for visiting the Yala National Park.
