We booked an ocean view room with a private big terrace. Service, staff, room and food were excellent. The beach is huge and beautiful. The pool facing the ocean is very relaxing. I used the spa and the massage was great. They offer also yoga class in the morning. Highly Recommended !

The accommodation offers a spa centre. Guests at Sleeping Elephant Beach Resort will be able to enjoy activities in and around Tangalle, like cycling. We travel with our 2 boys 8 and 9 yo We just loved the place!! The villa had a closed bedroom and a second floor for our kids There is a small kitchen with the basics to prepare snacks. And 2 fridges There is so much space and its really comfy The pool was lovely. And the beach right in front was super quiet. The waves were pretty big but fun to play in The staff was really nice and the food delicious And the owners were really helpfull and really nice

Vegetarian, halal and vegan options can also be requested. My wife and I stayed at Lagoon Gate during our short trip to Tangalle. Due to the affordable cost of the lodgings, we were unsure what type or property it would be and what kind of service we would get; however, once arriving, we were very impressed with the property and the staff on site. The rooms are spacious and very clean, complete with a balcony to relax on in the evening. The swimming pool on site is warm and has a great surrounding area. As the property only has 6-8 guesthouses, it is not too overcrowded and an overall peaceful experience if you are looking to relax. For those active guests, kayaks are available to use free of change and gives you a chance to paddle over to the neighboring island to explore the beach (it took us about 25 Minutes in a double kayak). As it is in quite a remote location, there are no options to venture out for meals (unless you have a car); therefore, your only option is dining in the property’s on-site restaurant. This wasn’t a problem tho as the food was fantastic and the service even better. The portion sizes are massive and the owner was always giving us little extras, such as fruit, soup and even a few local spirits. The menu was reasonably priced, with the majority of main meals costing between 7-9 USD and had a fairly wide selection of local and international options. They also have a selection of beer and spirits for those looking to have a few drinks (also a stocked mini bar in your room). Over all, we would give our stay a solid 10/10 as it more than exceeded our expectations, considering the price. Will definitely be back in the future. Mark & Sarah

Among the various facilities are a terrace, a restaurant, as well as a bar. The accommodation provides a 24-hour front desk, airport transfers, room service and free WiFi. I loved the quietness of the hotel. It was very very clean and spacious. The AC worked great in the heat. Also the foods Lakshita made us were perfect. Lovely breakfast that was super abundant, and also marvelous dinners with true Sri Lankan flavours. My girlfriend had some requests, like, she wanted pancakes, vegetarian food, No spicy food etc. This was not a problem and he made it all happen with a smile.

The Alpha Monkey hotel & Tree house offers a spa centre. Such an amazing place. We were actually very sad to leave after 3 days. Would have loved to stay longer. Directly on the beach and all you hear are the waves. We ate quite often in the Restaurant and all meals were very tasty with good prices. The beaches are rather quite, which was perfect for some relaxed days. You can get free sunbeds if you buy a drink at the Restaurants which have sunbeds or you just take your towl to the beach. Would definately love to come again.

Host is so kind thar he will take great care of each and everything. Room was so nice and clean with chilled AC and fan. Host picked me up from bus stop which is extremely helpful because it was raining and there were no tuk tuk there. I had to go to Ella later, host provided best guidance how to get direct bus. Host took me on his car to bus stop. Bus stop was quite far. Host ensures I boarded bus safely and then he left. Best host I had ever.
