Amazing place, very calm with nice vibes, beatiful nature, few guests. Resort is located in front of the ocean with nice beach, sometimes dirty - garbage from the ocean during tide. Resort is perfect, few villas, very luxurious. I prefer Ocean Villa with a view, amazing terrace (our villa includes protection against raining), private mini pool. Space inside the villa is very generous, big bed, gauch,... photos attached. Bathroom is spacious as well, with shower and bathtub with amazing view to the garden or the sky. Cleanliness in very high level, everyday cleaning. Simple smart system inside room is nice surprise. The main pool is perfect, good for swimmers, children and chillin as well. Restaurant is excellent, good quality of food, asian and european too. Possibility of biliard, calcetto, massage. The highest added value in the resort are the people, so much nice an helpful staff working here, big thank you! Amazing and relaxing holidays spent in Ayana Sea.

Nilantha and his staff gave every effort to make our stay enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble. They even helped us Aussie beginners fix up our Sri Lankan/Indian outfits for the wedding we attended at a nearby resort. The hotel is on the peninsula's best little beach - a quiet, almost private cove. We really enjoyed the hospitality, especially on our first night when a musician/singer entertained us all for free over dinner, and people of all nationalities enjoyed a dance. Then there's Nilantha's community work. His hotel helps support 2 local orphanages (a humbling experience to visit) as well as other local micro businesses. We encourage people to stay at the hotel and support Nilantha's charitable endeavours.

Sound of ocean and birds. Food excellent. And the most important people and their outstanding service. My host was Uneska and all credits go to her for such wonderful time in Kalutara. Don’t miss this place. Perfect to combine with another one Bawa’s masterpiece in Sigiriya.

Directly located along Kalatura Beach, the Tangerine Beach Hotel offers an outdoor pool and yoga lessons. Set amidst tropical gardens, it also has an Ayurvedic spa and 2 restaurants. Place, amenities, staff, food and everything else was superb. The option we got was too good for the price we paid. Had a nice view of the garden and the ocean from the balcony.

Built on 9 acres of gardens, AVANI Kalutara Resort (formerly Kani Lanka Resort and Spa) is located by the Kalu Ganga River. It offers an outdoor pool, a luxurious spa and free Wi-Fi. Quite simply the staff. They all did whatever they could to make our stay better especially regarding food options. The chef’s personally came over for every meal time and also to prepare baby food for our 10 month baby. Good value for money and not too far from Columbo. Excellent if you want to relax as a family. A big thank you to Ashan for making the stay as comfortable as possible and to Ruwan and the rest of the team for looking after us every meal time. Highly recommend due to the level of customer service. Would also recommend the pool suite.
