The staff were so welcoming and friendly.-and it was just as lovely as the photos! The pool was clean and really inviting - and beautifully lit up at night. The breakfast was exceptional. I'm coeliac and they catered above and beyond for me, with fish curry, dahl, white beans, fresh fruit... We got the bus just by the hotel into town in the evening, as well as onwards for our next stage the next day-so we'll situated, altho it's out of the main town. Highly recommended.

Lavendish Lake Giritale is located in the Ancient City of Polanaruwa, overlooking the beautiful Giritale Lake. Stunning location. Wonderful views. Comfortable rooms. Helpful kind staff. Good food we took the half board option and were not disappointed. Good value and a great place for elephant safari.

Priyanna Guesthouse was a very nice place to stay in Polonnaruwa. It is located not too far from the ruines of Polonnaruwa in a very beautifull, green and quiet neighborhood. We had a big, clean room and bathroom for six people which we very much liked. Priyanna was a perfect host that was very friendly and helpfull. He provided us with amazing breakfasts and diners. Furthermore, he gave us the needed information how to get through town and provided us with rental bikes to visit the ruines. Priyanna is very flexible. You can talk to him about your plans and he'll give you some more advice and make sure breakfast is ready according to when you want to start your day. We would definitely recommend staying here for a visit to Polonnaruwa.

The Deer Park Hotel is located on the banks of Giritale Reservoir, 10 km from Polonnaruwa Wihara. The stylish 5-star hotel offers an outdoor pool, 4 dining options and free parking. The room was beautiful, with a very nice view of the lake and the bathroom was amazing, the experience of having shower in the middle of the nature is so great! We also enjoy having drinks at night in the beautiful garden in front of the lake. The breakfast and the dinner is delicious. We took a massage and it was so relaxing… a perfect place to enjoy the nature (safaris are quite near) and relax
