Dasun, the owner, was super nice and organized a safari for us, brought us to the elephant orphanage, and as well to a river, so that we could refresh ourselves on those super hot days. The place is pretty, the room comfortable and the food was really good.

Offering a barbecue and views of the garden, green view safari resort is located 8 km from Udawalawe National Park. We had a great stay at Green view safari resort. We were welcomed with a drink and early check in. The bungalow was perfect for our needs and very clean and tidy with good Air- con. The lovely couple who own the place were so welcoming. We had a superb home cooked evening meal with choice of 4 curries. Good mini bar choice also. They arranged a brilliant safari for us which was great value and with a really knowledgeable driver. We highly recommend for a 1 or 2 night stay.

Offering a restaurant, Mansala Safari Resort is located in Udawalawe and provides a 24-hour front desk for the convenience of the guests. Free WiFi access is available. Mansala is a lovely, family owned Guesthouse. The rooms are comfortable, spacious, and have great beds. They offer game drives with a great guide who is very knowledgeable. Be careful because many of the “guides” are simply drivers and know little about the animals and birds. The dinners at Mansala were just amazing. The hostess is an amazing chef and her meals will impress you. The breakfasts are good, but the star is the evening meal. The owners are kind, gracious, helpful and want to leave you impressed.

What a wonderful place to stay. Even better than the photos. The room was pristine and well equipped, with WiFi, AC, hot showers, mosquito nets and comfortable beds. The hosts were super friendly and welcoming and spoke very good English. The garden is beautiful and immaculately maintained, it really was a green paradise. The food was delicious, we tasted lots of different traditional Sri Lankan dishes with generous portions provided. The aubergine curry was a particular highlight. Highly recommend booking your Safari through the hosts, we did and it was a treat. Our guide was fantastic and he joyfully shared his knowledge and passion for animals with us. We saw lots of Elephants including babies and many other animals and birds, which we think was only possible due to his local knowledge. Don’t miss your chance to stay here if you’re in the area.

City Elephant is ideally situated for getting to the park, right on the main drag through town. The owners are super friendly. My room was large with a good bed and good AC. The restaurant out by the street looks unassuming, but DO eat there...these guys cook beautifully. I had a rice/curry lunch that was just lovely.
