Wonderful place to stay to enjoy Udawalawe Park owned by a welcoming couple. The bungalows are large, clean, and beautifully constructed. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio in the evening and showering in the outdoor waterfall shower. We were greeted with tea and cake. Dinner is spectacular vegetarian Sri Lankan cuisine. Go for the tours offered by the hosts as well. They are great. We did a 4 hour morning safari and saw many elephants, often without other jeeps around, as well as loads of birds, plus water buffalo and a crocodile. All in all, a wonderful operation. Perfect one night stop for your time in Udawalawe.

Offering a barbecue and views of the garden, green view safari resort is located 8 km from Udawalawe National Park. Very nice place with kind and helpful hosts. Sri-Lankan breakfast and dinner have a good taste and invited juice was very pretty surprise. Close to the elephant place, hope that back to this place again. If you need hosts can organize safari for the guests.

Mansala is a lovely, family owned Guesthouse. The rooms are comfortable, spacious, and have great beds. They offer game drives with a great guide who is very knowledgeable. Be careful because many of the “guides” are simply drivers and know little about the animals and birds. The dinners at Mansala were just amazing. The hostess is an amazing chef and her meals will impress you. The breakfasts are good, but the star is the evening meal. The owners are kind, gracious, helpful and want to leave you impressed.

I had a lovely stay at Green Paradise Cottage, the garden was so beautiful with interesting plants, and the family were really friendly. They gave me traditional Sri Lankan breakfast and also I asked for dinner in the evening which was so welcome having arrived at 7 and travelling by bus to get there. One of the family also ran safaris, so organised it through them really easily and I had an amazing time seeing a whole family of elephants by the lake-very lucky!

We really enjoyed our stay here - the staff were amazing, super friendly and helped us in any way they could. The room was spacious, had a fridge and kettle and was really clean. The shower was warm and the bed was comfortable. The WiFi was also very good. We sat on the balcony for a few hours watching the sun set and the wildlife and it was so peaceful. The staff also helped us with booking the Udawalawe national park safari and even paid for a tuktuk to the bus station.

Thank you to Aijith and Pamoda, who were so welcoming for our stay, and really looked after my brother and I. The accommodation is indeed in the jungle and could see monkeys and wild life. We had delicious welcome lemonade and cake and the breakfast is huge!! Aijith and Pamoda organise a morning safari which was wonderful, we saw so many elephants. And they packed us a breakfast. The accommodation is exceptional value for money, comfortable bed, new AC, hot water, fridge, kettle and even a hairdryer! I really like the aesthetic of the bedrooms too. And a lovely little porch to sit and relax. Its nears some resturants too and short walk to udawalawe junction. Thanks again! I would highly recommend.

Great place, room facilities exceeded our expectations- very good value for money. The room decor was almost jungle-like, plus air conditioning and a kettle in the room. What we loved the most was the bathroom with tiles in tigers🩷 We arrived in the evening and there was a delicious dinner waiting for us made by the host, who was incredibly hospitable and fed us throughout our stay. The food was delicious. He also organised a safari along with provisions for the journey. All in all, I highly recommend this place, there is also an elephant orphanage nearby and everything is surrounded by a wealth of nature 💚💚💚💚🌴

City Elephant is ideally situated for getting to the park, right on the main drag through town. The owners are super friendly. My room was large with a good bed and good AC. The restaurant out by the street looks unassuming, but DO eat there...these guys cook beautifully. I had a rice/curry lunch that was just lovely.
