Location was perfect (close to beach and amazing restaurants), staff were incredibly helpful, whole place was super clean and exceptional value for money. All quite basic, but it had everything we needed. The shared kitchen and fridge is also very useful… all in all a great place for a beach holiday!

Offering an outdoor swimming pool and a spa and wellness centre, Amaranthe Bay Resort & Spa is located just 5 km north of the Trincomalee town on the beautiful East Coast of Sri Lanka. The hotel is very good. Room is clean and spacious. The view on the bay is gorgeous. It’s relatively close to the beach and the ocean in this area is very clean and warm. We spent here 4 nights with our 3 years old son and we all had a wonderful time. The staff is very attentive. I especially want to highlight the man at the pool area and the guys from the restaurant, especially Kirujan , who was very helpful with all our needs. The food was delicious and varied. Definitely recommend this hotel. From what we’ve seen that’s probably the best resort in the area.

At the last minute, we switched from a large accommodation to the smaller Coastal Heaven Villa. We're so glad we did. What a wonderful place and what lovely people! There's a great vibe here. The accommodation is new. Real care and attention has been put into the rooms and common areas. The rooms are super clean, the bed is new; a very thick, comfortable mattress, and there's good air conditioning. Shampoo and tea and coffee making facilities are also in the room. We loved the common areas and garden where we could relax. Coastal Heaven is close (about 150 meters) to the lovely beach, which had a lovely, relaxed vibe when we were there. The accommodation provided beach towels, and you can also use the beach beds at Waves restaurant. Two excellent restaurants right on the beach. The owner, Thilee (speaks good English), and his staff are incredibly kind people, truly care for their guests, and do everything they can to make their stay as comfortable as possible. We needed a doctor in the middle of the night. The owner had a qualified doctor come to the property and even picked up medication from the hospital by motorbike. If necessary, we could stay longer the next day at no extra cost. They were very concerned. Thank you so much, Thilee, and your cooperation, for the wonderful time and excellent care! We received a warm welcome and the room was very clean and good beds. What a terrific hosts, so friendly and they also booked two trips for us (pigeon island and dolphin spotting). The breakfast was also great, homemade and very tasteful. If you go to Nilaveli this is the place to go! Also close to the beach. Very good stay for the price you are paying.
