We had a brilliant stay at Hasthi cottage. The cottage was very spacious, clean and had a lovely outdoor bathroom and tub. Outside of the cottage was a lovely outdoor area. The cottage was near to the main road where there were some restaurants and shops. We were picked up from Mirissa and dropped off at Ella which was organised by Dasun and was a good price. In the morning we had a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast which was very filling. A laundry service is offered which we used and our clothes were returned the very next day. We went to the national park for the safari which was an amazing day. We were provided with a delicious breakfast and lunch. Our tour guide Pereira was super friendly and awnsered all our questions. He made sure we had time to watch the animals and helped us to take some incredible photos. Overall an amazing stay and would highly recommend.

Offering a barbecue and views of the garden, green view safari resort is located 8 km from Udawalawe National Park. Amazing rooms very spacious and comfy beds, AC and a fan. Food is delicious for breakfast and dinner. Close to the national park and walking distance to the elephant transit home.

Offering a restaurant, Mansala Safari Resort is located in Udawalawe and provides a 24-hour front desk for the convenience of the guests. Free WiFi access is available. We stayed in the four bedroom which was very luxurious and big. The hosting family was very kind and made delicious breakfast and dinner for us!

What a wonderful place to stay. Even better than the photos. The room was pristine and well equipped, with WiFi, AC, hot showers, mosquito nets and comfortable beds. The hosts were super friendly and welcoming and spoke very good English. The garden is beautiful and immaculately maintained, it really was a green paradise. The food was delicious, we tasted lots of different traditional Sri Lankan dishes with generous portions provided. The aubergine curry was a particular highlight. Highly recommend booking your Safari through the hosts, we did and it was a treat. Our guide was fantastic and he joyfully shared his knowledge and passion for animals with us. We saw lots of Elephants including babies and many other animals and birds, which we think was only possible due to his local knowledge. Don’t miss your chance to stay here if you’re in the area.

We really enjoyed our stay here - the staff were amazing, super friendly and helped us in any way they could. The room was spacious, had a fridge and kettle and was really clean. The shower was warm and the bed was comfortable. The WiFi was also very good. We sat on the balcony for a few hours watching the sun set and the wildlife and it was so peaceful. The staff also helped us with booking the Udawalawe national park safari and even paid for a tuktuk to the bus station.

We just stayed with the family at Waraka for 2 nights and it has been amazing. A beautiful place, great food and lovely people. There is so much love, care and attention. The Place is very well kept and very calm and qiuet. The price was very cheap for the quality of the room. Staff is also very friendly.

City Elephant is ideally situated for getting to the park, right on the main drag through town. The owners are super friendly. My room was large with a good bed and good AC. The restaurant out by the street looks unassuming, but DO eat there...these guys cook beautifully. I had a rice/curry lunch that was just lovely.
