Octant Douro is set in the southern margin of the Douro River, km 41 of the N222 road. It is 10 km from the centre of Castelo de Paiva, 40 km from Porto, 60 km from Porto International Airport and 160 km from the Spanish border. It was all in the details: the most wonderful stay. My only regret is not staying longer.

The property features indoor pool, Nordic bath, training room and spa treatments. Everything. From hospitality to food to service. We were upgraded to a suite so the room was spacious and excellent. The hotel design is nice and the breakfast buffet was exceptional. I had one of the best pina coladas in life :) Regarding the service, young people were working and overall we were impressed from everything :) And it is 20min walking from the center

At Barrilario Douro Wine Hotel e Spa - Quinta São Jose do Barrilario guests are welcome to take advantage of a Turkish bath. The staff were very attentive! The place was beautiful and the spa and pool were amazing. I would definitely recommend this place.

There is a private entrance at the farm stay for the convenience of those who stay. Free WiFi is available throughout the property, as well as a terrace and a restaurant. The property also offers accommodation for disabled guests. Thus was an absolute gem. Sooo comfortable luxurious stay would thoroughly recommend this beautiful property . The property has mountain and garden views, and is 17 km from Our Lady of Remedies Sanctuary. Lamego Cathedral is 11 km from the farm stay and Lamego Museum is 11 km away. In a beautiful location, wonderful views down the valley, really peaceful. It is so nice being a small hotel with only 5 rooms. Exceptionally high standard of decor & cleanliness. Andre could not do enough to help us. Even prior to check-in his communication was excellent, upon arrival we had a little tour of the property and a taste of the port wine produced here. Both nights he made our dinner reservations for us and chose outstanding restaurants nearby. His local knowledge is excellent. We had a 1-1 wine tour/tasting at their vineyard which was fabulous and so special to get a look ‘behind the scenes’ at a small wine producer. The wine is delicious. Breakfasts were very fresh and good quality. Access to water, tea, coffee and pastel de natas every day too! Would absolutely stay here again!

With garden views, this accommodation provides a patio. The country house has family rooms and facilities for disabled guests. This pace is beautiful. It is very peaceful, the staff are attentive. The beds were super comfortable. There is everything in the kitchen you need to create a lovely meal. This was very welcome after weeks of travelling I enjoyed being able to prepare delicious food for my family.

You hear the birds, you see birds flying, you hear the river. The swimming pool is amazing. The water was a perfect temperature to refresh without being too cold. This is a perfect getaway from city life. The hosts are so welcoming and eager to help. They encourage guests to ask for what they need and they are extremely accommodating. For instance, we had the privilege to choose our room and during breakfast they asked us if we wanted eggs made in any way we liked.

Guests can participate in the farm’s activities. Those looking for relaxation can use the hot tub overlooking the valley. Indulge yourself with the variety of therapies available at the Spa. There are events rooms available. A pearl in the heart of Douro Valley. This place is out of the way, but so worth it! Hospitality was amazing. We stayed in the suites that are next to the running stream. We heard it running all night. The spa was cozy after a long day in the rain. Breakfast was a feast. It was off-season, so we were the only guests. From May to October they are generally at a full booking.. I can understand why. Highly recommend!!

There is a sun terrace, an outdoor pool and a restaurant. As well as a 24-hour front desk. Amazing place with lovely swimming pool with spectacular view. Great hospitality and lovely clean room. Very nice breakfast.
