It was my husband’s and my first trip to Portugal and Porto, and the front desk staff were fantastic — recommending sites to visit and one the best restaurants we have ever been to! We truly appreciated the incredibly helpful, delightful, and kind staff. Early in our stay, we had a problem with the drapes in our room; the staff immediately resolved the issue in the nicest and most generous way imaginable. Thanks especially to manager Soraia Ribero, who could not possibly have been more helpful and thoughtful. We were upgraded and treated so specially. The staff and Soraia, in particular, made our first trip to Porto so memorable and special. We shall never forget our trip to Porto and hope one day to return to Porto’s Wine & Books Hotel.

The room was perfect, spacious, and they provided us with everything we could need for our daughter, a high chair, cot, changing mat and even a baby bath. Everyone was so nice to her and accommodating. The heated pool was lovely to enjoy. Really such a luxurious stay and will definitely be staying here again, when we come to Porto. Metro is just round the corner but it is also walking distance to almost all attractions. Just a 25 mins walk to the river side and 15 mins walk to the famous bridge. Plenty of restaurants around as well.

Staff at the 24-hour front desk speak English, Spanish, French and Portuguese. No breakfast taken. Location great for the city, hilly for the river, but perfect if you don’t mind walking. All staff very helpful, reception lovely, Marianna checked us in, she was very informative and welcoming. All other staff, bar, and room service friendly and efficient, nothing was too much trouble. We were more than impressed. We had lunch a couple of times on the terrace, a peaceful break and lovely food. Quite a tranquil area in the heat of the day, with some shady tables. Superior room, quiet, large & a very nice bathroom.

Speaking English, Spanish, French and Italian at the reception, staff are always on hand to help. This is a very plush hotel set right beside the castle. The hotel is very modern but has been done sympathetic to its surroundings. Everything is spotless and the staff are excellent. The beds were supremely comfortable.
