At first, I thought this place was a bit basic for the price. But after staying in five other hotels in Romania, I realized it was the best value for money. The views are incredible — probably some of the best on the Transalpina road. There are plenty of places to eat and things to do nearby. I especially recommend Tara Restaurant. We tried a few, and that one stood out. The owner is amazing. He did a great job, even without knowing much English. We used the sauna and hot tub two days in a row. It felt great to end a day full of hiking and exploring with a proper bathhouse session. We really recommend this place.

We recently stayed at Pensiunea Tobo in Baia de Fier and had the most incredible time! I was there with my wife and our British friends – it was their first visit to Romania, and they said it was the best holiday they’ve ever had! The location is beautiful and peaceful, with stunning views and fresh mountain air. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and well-equipped. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, kind, and helpful – they made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. Every detail was taken care of with warmth and care. We enjoyed every moment, from relaxing in the garden to exploring the nearby attractions like Peștera Muierii. It was truly an unforgettable experience, and we’re already planning to come back! Thank you, Pensiunea Tobo, for giving us such a perfect holiday – and for making our friends fall in love with Romania!

Room was very spacious and very modern, we enjoyed a huuuuge terrace and a nice view, as we stayed at one of the top floors. Everything in the villa is brand new and still smells as fresh wood. The villa is placed in a nice neighborhood. Staff was very polite and professional. We stayed only for one night and although we had only one breakfast included in the reservation, and we were 2 persons, when we offered to pay for the second breakfast, the receptionist said that she discussed with the owner and the second breakfast was from the house and there is no need to pay. Definitely we will come back!
