Situated at the base of the wild Tsitsikamma Mountains, The Fernery overlooks an impressive 30-metre waterfall in the Sanddrift River gorge. Beautiful setting and an easy drive after a day spent at Storms River mouth. Rooms large and comfy with views of the gorge. Plenty to offer: sauna, spa, pool, playground for kids - one night here was not long enough. Fantastic meals and a great wine cellar, the dining room with beautiful views of the gorge and waterfalls.

The property is in a beautiful location, isolated but not too hard to get to from the main road. Beautiful sea views in a tranquil area. I loved my stay here. There are trails to walk on the forest near the property and curious monkeys would show up in the morning to look at our chalet. Food in the restaurant was really good and I’ve also used the spa, which was amazing after a long flight. Staff were fantastic, so friendly and attentive. Wish I had time to stay longer and hope to come back one day. Book without thinking twice.

Trogon House offers treetop accommodation in the Tsitsikamma Forest, 15 minutes’ drive from the beaches of Plattenberg Bay. Trogon House and its entire staff is just Wonderfull. A special thanks to Carol, she was super supportive finding suppliers and helping hands for a small wedding we held on Natures Valley's Beach. Food was superb. The location of Trogon House is ideal to explore Plettenberg and surroundings but back in the hotel you think you're somewhere far away in a tropical jungle - wonderful
