Simply an amazing experience. Sue and Patrick are fantastic hosts. On arrival we were greeted with a cockatoo saying hello! Then we got to spend some time around their very friendly birds. They even took us out on a night walk to see some musky rat kangaroos. Simply a great all round experience. Definitely worth staying the night in Kuranda just for this.

This hostel was really great! The staff were cheerful and friendly, and guests often went out to parties together. There was also a pool, so I was never bored. The kitchen was spacious, and since the common area closes for noise at midnight, I was never disturbed when trying to sleep. There was also a TV room and various events. One thing I especially recommend is the morning Coffee Club.

I wish I had stayed there before. What a discovery! Clean, in a quiet area close to the waterfront and such good value for money! The receptionist was ever so nice! There looks to be a quaint little pool, but I did not use it.

The staff is super friendly, due to the off season we were able to have an early check-in which was great! The staff would show interest in our plans during our stay and they were very helpful. The location is fine enough, but the city centre isn’t really reachable walking, so we just took Ubers for like 8 dollars which was perfectly fine. The room itself was very clean it’s maybe a bit more old fashioned, but it kinda fit the ambiance of the hotel. In general I was very satisfied with my stay after traveling for so long, thank you hotel Tropiq!
