Last year we stayed in Janske Lazne and cycled past the "Hotel Vydrovy boudy Pec pod Sněžkou", and we said, next time we come to Pec we have to stay there. And we just stayed there, as a family of four and our dog. What do we love about it ? The location is magnificent, it is on the plateau at the top of the mountain, you feel like you are on top of the world, it is a recently built mountain chalet, and done in a beautiful style, we had the half board and the breakfast and evening meal were absolutely perfect. The hotel is run by the owner who is very friendly and very helpful with local knowledge, where to hike, where to stop for lunch. In the evening you have beautiful sunsets with views which stretch for tens of miles, at night there is a quietness which cannot be matched. We need to explore Pec more, and we will be staying here again next time and using it as our base. What more to say, Hotel Vydrovy boudy Pec pod Sněžkou is a gem, enjoy it.

Atmosphere of the place was special; beautiful landscape, cozy restaurant with very good unlimited food, very tasty wine, possibility to prepare lunch "box" for your excursions. Rustical rooms equipped with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. Wellness access after long walks.. and the possibility to come with the dogs. Friendly and helpful hosts and the staff. Great little lodge 5 minutes walk from the city centre (uphill, when you are going back), great views from the room and the outside decks where you can enjoy a drink from the bar or some local food, good parking for Pec. And the best part about this stay - the staff. Both the lady and the gentleman running everything - the kitchen, check-in and breakfast, were extremely nice and attentive and did a fantastic job (even though they didn't speak any English), they would even bring us pillows to sit on outside without even asking.
