Very large and comfortable room. Bathroom was great, as was the washer/dryer in the room. Close to the train station and 20/25 minute walk from the Main Street / Deer park. Self checkin was also very simple.

This is an amazing property and we loved staying in a traditional Japanese townhouse, in a quiet part of town. I was travelling with my husband and 3 adult children in early April. The location is great for walking into Nara (10-15 mins). We arrived in the evening and it was lovely that our host had put the heating on for us and it was easy to retrieve the keys from the key safe. It was a bonus to find there are 2 toilets and 2 hand washing basins in the property. We all agreed that the shower is the most powerful shower we have ever come across - amazing. All the beds were large doubles and very comfortable. We stayed for 4 nights and our host had left lots of extra towels for us (far more than we chose to use). We liked that the bedrooms could also be heated in the evening, if needed. I used the washing machine and the instructions in English were helpful. There were lots of hanging rails to dry clothes on. The kitchen was well equipped and had more than we needed to reheat meals from the convenience store or to make snacks. For the rest of our stay in Japan we stayed in aparthotels in family suites. I was great to have so much room to spread out in for a few days. I highly recommend this property.

An extremely pleasant and cozy hotel with a wonderful onsen. Well-equipped, friendly staff, I am especially grateful for the one receptionist who was extremely patient and more than willing to accommodate my minimalistic, still struggling Japanese. I recently stayed at the Bakery Hotel Chateau D'or in Nara and had a delightful experience. The hotel'slocation, just steps away from Kintetsu Nara Station, made it incredibly convenient for exploring the city. Upon arrival, the accommodating staff kindly stored our luggage early in the morning, allowing us to begin our sightseeing without delay. We even had the opportunity to participate in tea ceremony that morning, which felt like a lovely welcoming addition. Our room was simple yet equipped with all the necessary amenities, providing a quiet and comfortable retreat after a day of exploration. A delightful surprise awaited us in the form of complimentary cookies from the hotel's own bakery. Breakfast featured a delicious toast set, with freshly baked bread and a peaceful atmosphere to start the day. Overall, the combination of the hotel's convenient location, friendly staff, and thoughtful amenities made our stay both enjoyable and worthwhile. I would highly recommend the Bakery Hotel Chateau D'or to anyone visiting Nara.
