It is a very nice place to stay. The property is super clean and well-maintained. Although it is a little distance from the Hirikitya buzz, that’s what makes the place calm and relaxing. The owners are also very friendly. I highly recommend it!

After staying at many small Sri Lankan independent hotel / guest houses, from the very north to the south this is undoubtedly the best. One of 2 reviews from me as most other being average: This place is perfectly run, perfectly maintained, great pool and great breakfasts! The evening restaurant offers a mix of Italian and Sri Lankan dishes and after a few weeks traveling nothing beats a homemade Lasagna with a glass of Red! The Beach at 2 mins away is also nr perfect. Even with the rough seas experienced on this coast there is a northern corner that is calm enough to enjoy a good swim. Well done team and Gaby, you run a great establishment. I hope to return with many friends. T

Charith & Nishadi are the most amazing hosts. I came for three nights and stayed nineteen! A decent little righthand break was in easy walking distance and Hiriketiya just five minutes away on my scooter. The smaller room, which I had, had a view out to the break and received a cool (ish) sea breeze. I'll definitely be returning 😊

I liked that the room was spacious and with enough light. The owner is super nice, she was preparing various Sri Lanka breakfast combos for us, the food was delicious. The best thing is that everyone can use the kitchen, keep food in the fridge, prepare tea… Although the accommodation is by the main road, it was not bothering, as balcony is oriented to the other side ( we stayed in the 1st floor), open to greenery.

The fantastic Madame Mani is the owner and manager of Gurugedare Heritage. She welcomes all guests with open arms and you feel welcome and home immediately. International or domestic breakfast is offered. Lunch and dinner are Sri Lankan dishes with local ingredients. In the vicinity there is Tallalla Beach approx. 1km. 7km away there is the fantastic Hiriketiya Beach a paradise for surfers. (15min by tuk-tuk) Thank you Madame Mani for a fantastic stay.
