Family-run for over 160 years, the Hotel Kreuz is a traditional country inn in a quiet location in the Canton of Solothurn, 30 minutes away from Basle. My recent stay at this place was absolutely exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the serene and peaceful atmosphere. The hotel's location is truly idyllic, offering a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The staff were incredibly attentive and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Every request was met with a smile and prompt, efficient service. My room was spacious and beautifully appointed, featuring a comfortable layout that made it feel truly inviting. The cleanliness of the room was impeccable, adding to the overall sense of comfort and relaxation. Situated within a 15-minute walk from Basel's centre, Apartments Spalenring 10 offers free on-site parking. Everything. I'd definitely stay here again when I return to beautiful Basel. The host went above and beyond to ensure we had a lovely stay. The flat is a 2 minute walk to a fantastic cheese shop (please visit) and the COOP and Migros. It's super close to the tram stop. The bed was comfortable, the bathtub sold me after a long day of walking, I could soak my sore feet! The host was so nice to bring a wine opener for us. Overall, what a fabulous find.

Breakfast was amazing. Coffee was made for us and brought to our table. Was a very nice gesture. The rest we grabbed a bit of everything, the bread was still warm and crispy. The croissants also were divine. The hotel has a unique charm. The check-in was the best I've ever had. Very flexible. We arrived a bit late and our room key was placed in a letterbox outside of the hotel, with a pin code that was sent to us previously.
