This chalet is a nice experience. The reason why I give a 10/10 is that al standard commercial places become boring over time. This small chalet in the middle of the mountains is the exact opposite. The full wood interior and the low ceiling (I’m 1.83 and nearly touch the ceiling) made it really cosy. The bed is also great.

What a lovely place, in a beautiful green, quiet location, just outside of Gudo, overlooking the vineyards and the mountains. Marco is a great host, kind to everyone, open for chats (which we love) and very attentive. We stayed 5 nights and the breakfast was perfect, every single day. He makes good coffee, there were different cheeses to choose from every day, and fresh fruit, among others. We were also very happy with the beds, after almost a week in Interlaken with super soft beds, we were happy with these nice, sturdy matrasses. Marco also organizes dinners. We were able to enjoy one of them and we were very satisfied. We will come again, when we're back in Ticino! With the Ticino ticket that you get upon arrival, you can use all means of public transport in Ticino free of charge. That's a huge bonus. Bellinzona is only 20 minutes by bus and from there you can take great walks, either high up in the mountains (using a cable car to get there), or lower, there's ample choice.

Re-opened in September 2010, Hotel Internazionale Bellinzona offers free access to a spacious spa area, as well as modern, air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi in the centre of Bellinzona. Excellent location, right next to the central station and close to the old city. The rooms are cozy and very clean. Good breakfast.

The Motel Gottardo Sud can be found 7 minutes from the A2 / E35 highway, south of the Gotthard tunnel. It offers quiet rooms, tasty food, free parking and free Wi-Fi. everything, the night shift was available to check in even if very late hour

Completely renovated in 2017, the modern Hotel Bellinzona Sud is located in Monte Carasso, right off the A2 highway. Great hotel and facilities. Fabulous staff, helpful and attentive. Room price includes a basic breakfast and access to free coffee, tea, fruit or snack. While slightly out of town, the hotel pays half the taxi fare which we found was a good option for us when arriving from and leaving for the station with much luggage. They also informed us of the free bus pass for tourists which they organised for us but we found the 30 minute walk into town very pleasant. Great views of the mountains and castles from the rooms. Having stayed at other hotels in Bellinzona in the past, this will now become our go to hotel for future visits.
