Surrounded by a garden with a heated outdoor pool, Smart-HOTEL MINUSIO, a Swiss Quality Hotel is a 2-minute drive from the centre of Locarno and Lake Maggiore. Good facilities and practical location. The area was calm and quiet and moving around with the Ticino ticket was very easy and convenient (bus stop right around the corner). Good base for exploring Ticino, we did a lot of different trips during our stay (easy start by hopping on a bus right in from of the hotel). Short walk down to the waterfront with some restaurants, couple of supermarkets within a couple of minutes by foot. Starting the morning with a breakfast in the garden was a nice way to start the day (excellent breakfast buffet with plenty of choice, fresh fruit and local flavours). Friendly and helpful staff. During our stay, the hotel was fully booked but never felt busy or crowded, the atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed.

A 7-minute walk from the shore of Lago Maggiore, Hotel Dei Fiori enjoys a central location in Ascona and offers you en-suite rooms with free WiFi, cable TV and a minibar. The hosts were so lovely and kind and made sure we had everything we needed. Our dog was also very welcome and the breakfast was high quality and lovely as well!

Located in Ascona, just 600 metres from the shore at Lake Maggiore, Hotel Luna Garni offers a café bar with a terrace on the ground floor, free WiFi access, and a balcony in every room. Located super close to Ascona's center, within walking distance. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, especially when we had additional requests. The self-service bar at night was a convenient and enjoyable feature.

We liked everything in our garden view room. Then the delicious dinner and breakfast. Staff were generous with their time and effort to make us comfortable. Charme Hotel and Restaurant is a special hide away in a busy but scenic valley on edge of Locarno, Switzerland. Looking forward to returning SOON!

Great location as base for exploring surrounding area just a short walk to train/bus stations, as well as to grocery store Coop and many restaurants around. quiet with beautiful inner courtyard. There's someone at reception during the day, except weekend. The host was very quick to respond. There's laundry room at the property with a metered washer and dryer which was convenient. Just ask for coins at reception. Note that each coin will operate the washer or dryer for 30 minutes so just use more coins as necessary. Just a note for those coming in summer months, there's no aircon, didn't matter when I was there.

Piccolo Hotel enjoys a quiet location, an 8-minute walk from the Locarno Train Station and the centre of the city. This boutique hotel is ideally located in a quiet area of Locarno. The breakfast buffet has an excellent variety of regional meats, eggs, fruits, and breads. It’s only a short walk to the train station. They also offered the Ticino Card, which made access to public transportation easy! The hotel is family run. Nikoli was very helpful with information about the area. Would definitely stay here again!

The family-run Hotel Garni Golf is located in the heart of Ascona’s Old Town, just steps away from the promenade and Lake Maggiore. Guests can benefit from free WiFi. I booked my dad in here for our short stay in Ascona and he couldn’t speak highly enough of his experience here. The couple who own it are absolutely lovely, so friendly and helpful and treat you like family. I came to collect him one day and they let me sit with him and breakfast and offered me tea/coffee even though I want staying there. Breakfast was great, room was spotless and very comfortable. On departure they gave my dad a lovely homemade loaf of bread. I’m hoping to return next year and hope to get myself booked in here!

Albergo Mirador Ascona in Ascona was renovated in 2017 and is situated close to the shore of Lago Maggiore. It offers a terrace with panoramic mountain views and free WiFi. Very friendly staff, excellent facilities.
