Besides that, accommodations were excellent for a small hotel. Breakfast was wonderful and staff was friendly and caring. Location excellent, right around the corner from the lake.

Although it's rated as a 3-star, the warm hospitality and welcoming atmosphere made it feel like so much more—it was truly one of the highlights of our trip through Italy and Switzerland. A 7-minute walk from the shore of Lago Maggiore, Hotel Dei Fiori enjoys a central location in Ascona and offers you en-suite rooms with free WiFi, cable TV and a minibar. The hosts were so lovely and kind and made sure we had everything we needed. Our dog was also very welcome and the breakfast was high quality and lovely as well!

Situated on the edge of Locarno, Hotel Stella SA provides panoramic views of Lake Maggiore and comes with a restaurant serving Swiss and international cuisine. breakfast was really really good, omg the pastries are amazing. i ate like a king every morning during my stay at Hotel Stella. location was great too, the bus stops are just outside the hotel.

Staff was amazing, very helpful and nice. Breakfast was excellent. My room was very quiet with views toward the mountain. Location is very near the big square

Located in Ascona, just 600 metres from the shore at Lake Maggiore, Hotel Luna Garni offers a café bar with a terrace on the ground floor, free WiFi access, and a balcony in every room. Good location, quiet street, but still in the centre of the city. Parking 10 CHF per night, no problem with spaces. Good breakfast, everything we would like to see. Nice and helpful staff. At night the hotel has no receptionist, you have to collect your keys until late. Funny but useful system for the keys - you leave you big key and take small one with you. Same key opens the front door. Rooms are spacious enough, clean and fresh. If you are late there is a fridge with drinks and you just put down what you took. Good system!

The staff were really friendly and very helpful. The location is gorgeous and really easy to use the public transport into Locarno centre. Lovely room and breakfast!

There's someone at reception during the day, except weekend. The host was very quick to respond. There's laundry room at the property with a metered washer and dryer which was convenient. Just ask for coins at reception. Note that each coin will operate the washer or dryer for 30 minutes so just use more coins as necessary. Just a note for those coming in summer months, there's no aircon, didn't matter when I was there.

Piccolo Hotel enjoys a quiet location, an 8-minute walk from the Locarno Train Station and the centre of the city. Best hotel I have stayed in years. Great service by friendly and attentive staff. Quiet location not far from the lake. Loved the art decorations and relaxed feel of the hotel.
