Rooms at Esmeralda are equipped with cable TV, heating, telephones and private bathrooms. This was as a nice hotel room with breakfast. Check in was quick. We also had free parking. Breakfast was the usual fare for Chilean places.

Guests can enjoy mountain views. Roberto and his staff were real sweethearts. I arrived with an upset stomach (first trip to South America and not part of the lucky 50% to be spared traveler's diarrhea), and they took great care of me. I fell in love with Roberto's tea room, the view of the bay and his story. The food was also super tasty, tan rico! I planned to stay there two nights but ended up staying a week. My favorite place in Ancud!
