I can't find the words to describe how perfect my stay was. The room was immaculate, the bedding extremely comfortable. The toiletries were top of the range. And the breakfasts... absolutely delicious! Located 2 minutes from the center, this hotel is ideal for a relaxing stay in Shaxi. The host, Lynn, was lovely and always helpful to this French tourist who doesn't speak Chinese (me)! She also sells pottery featuring the local cat mascot: Wa Mao. If I wasn't backpacking for six months, I would have loved to buy some, they're so cute. Just go! ☀️

Nằm tại vị trí thuận tiện ở trung tâm Đại Lý, Dali Upland International Youth Hostel, near the south gate of the ancient city,5 mins walk to the old town, Close to Er Hai Lake, convenient payment and... I booked a bed in a 4-female dorm in July 2025. When checking in, they even upgraded my room to a double room shared with another female guest (of course they asked if I want that) and the room was amazing. It was very clean, beds were comfy and it even came with towels, Shampoo, shower gel,... Regarding the staff, they are able to speak chinese and English as far as I experienced and the are super friendly. Totally recommend staying there. The hostel has a beautiful and nice common area to play games, even play station or Computer games, but also has a nice terrasse to chill on. The location itself is also fantastic. It's a short strall away to the old ancient town which is beautiful to discover.
