This place is wonderful. Surprisingly quiet and in a nice location. We stayed there three times ..the night we arrived and two other times between flights to different places. We really enjoyed our stay at Tierra Magica B&B. The room was especially lovely with the owner's artwork and very comfortable. It was an easy walk to shops in Escazu and the garden and breakfast area were welcoming. This may become one of our go-to hotels to stay at when we're in the San Jose area.

Located in the centre of San José, Fleur de Lys offers individually decorated rooms set in a Victorian mansion. It features an attractive terrace, gardens and a restaurant. The hotel was super authentic and beautiful. I really loved the decoration and vibe of the place. The room was also really nice, super clean, and the bed comfortable. The quality of this place for its price is really great. My favourite part was without a doubt how nice and helpful staff were. I was travelling alone and this was my first stop in Costa Rica. They were really nice to give me directions to the bus station I had to go to the next morning. Will absolutely come back here on my next trip!

Offering a casino, gym and free WiFi zone, this modern Sleep Inn Hotel Paseo Las Damas is situated opposite España Park and the Modern Art Museum. Comfortable, large rooms. Good breakfast. Morning shuttles to the airport (for a reasonable fee). The location is very central if you want to walk to museums etc. We ate in the casino restaurant for dinner, but other restaurants/bars are in the immediate area.
