The typical ‘Bure’ bungalows of the Plantation Island Resort combine a traditional Polynesian décor with modern furnishings. Amenities include private bathrooms, air conditioning and a deck. The friendly staff, the cleanliness and endless action the kids! Kids eat free was a great deal for us.

Rooms have a kettle, while certain rooms are fitted with a balcony and others also boast sea views. Beautiful spacious room with friendly staff. Lovely breakfast included. 10 minutes walk from port. Only hotel to stay in Levuka. 50 fiji dollars return (about £17) for bus and boat from Suva.

Serenity Island Resort offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner overlooking the sandy beach. There are no alternative dining options available on the island or cooking facilities in the rooms. About 30 very modern villas that open metres away to the most amazing turquoise water. Sammy, the activities director, greeted us with boundless energy and made us feel so special. Pool is right on sea and water has amazing snorkelling. Good happy hour. Lots of activities on offer.
