Edinburgh Waverley Rail Station, Edinburgh Castle and the shops of Princes Street are within a 15-minute bus ride. Immensely cozy place with a great a la carte type breakfast and friendly hosts. I will definitely be coming back here. Great value and very close to connections

From the very beginning, communication was very clear and timely. We had absolutely no trouble at all finding the location thanks to Nicola’s excellent directions, and Erich met us on arrival to greet us, show us around, and tell us how things worked. The annex was very spacious and comfortable and had everything we could possibly need. The breakfast items provided were a welcome addition and everyone in the family had something to choose from. The beds were extremely comfy. The fireplace was loaded up with wood and ready to go, but we didn’t need to use it because it didn’t get too chilly. We didn’t have much time to enjoy the apartment since we were only there for one night, but the living area was very nicely set up and there were lots of board games and such available. The rural location is very quiet and a nice break from the city crowds. We have already recommended it to friends who plan to come watch the Edinburgh Tattoo later this year.

Alba House Hotel has a quiet location less than 3.2 km from Edinburgh Waverley rail Station. A number of local buses run regularly from the stop outside the guest house. The room was large and bed was comfortable, bathroom was lovely and clean. Owners were great, very welcoming. Location is great with bus stop to town right outside. Hotel give you a card with which buses to catch back which was fab. Onsite parking was good.

Everything was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was especially great. Very close to some great restaurants, including an incredible Nepalese restaurant just a few streets away. Highly recommend staying here, especially if you’re traveling solo or with a partner.

Great quiet location, and perfect for a walk to the city center. Good selection of cafes, shops and resturants/pubs nearby. Overall great value for the price!
