Gateway Lodge, a property with a shared lounge, is located in Speke, 5.3 km from 20 Forthlin Road, 6.3 km from Mendips John Lennon Home, as well as 8.3 km from Sefton Park. This 3-star guest house offers full-day security and luggage storage space. There is a sun terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. The location was perfect for my needs it was close to the airport about 15 mins easy walk.

All of our en suite double bedrooms offer a king size bed with memory foam mattress, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, television, telephone and complimentary wifi. All double rooms have baths with showers. Pretty much everything! From the friendly welcome, the gorgeous rooms, the lovely view and the fabulous food - it was all spot on. Special thanks to Mel on reception who was really helpful and knowledgeable. We had a bar meal and the serving staff were excellent, then the same at breakfast. All in all, a very enjoyable stay with the whole party planning to recommend The Royal to everyone in the Isle of Man!

Boasting quiet street views, Woodside Lodge features accommodation with a garden and a patio, around 11 km from The Beatles Statue. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. The homestay has a picnic area and a sauna. Before moving abroad, I grew up in this region (Wirral) and so was familiar with the surroundings. With Woodside Lodge as my base, I was able to explore on foot the lively village of Irby. I ventured further to the pretty village of Thurstaston and then along the Wirral Coastal Path to West Kirby. A short walk from Woodside Lodge there is a bus stop for frequent busses over to Liverpool city centre. The host of Woodside Lodge was very welcoming and helpful about local eateries and pubs. In fact, just about everyone I met and spoke to in and around Irby appeared cheerful and friendly. Overall, it felt very good to be "home" again! I will certainly try to stay at Woodside Lodge on my next visit.

Kirkdale Railway Station is within a 10-minute walk and has regular services to Liverpool city centre. There is a bus stop within a 5-minute walk and staff can provide transport timetables and directions. Wry comfortable and inviting great host !

With city views, the hotel is also within 2 minutes' walk of Liverpool Central and Liverpool James Street railway stations. Location and staff were very friendly. Rooms were clean and modern.
