The beach of Tolon is approximately 600 metres away. Kalamata Airport is at a distance of 89 km. Free private parking is possible at a location nearby. Minoa Hotel totally exceeded our expectations. When booking a room for 4 we were ready to be accommodated to a single room, but actually we got two connected rooms. The other thing was that we did not dare to think that the hotel main entrance is literally opening to a beach and you will be in a water after 10 steps and the dock, where you can sunbath, is a mere 15-20 meters away. All the rooms seemed to be with a sea-view (at least our was and i did not spot rooms opening to the inland direction). The breakfast was good and hosting staff was very friendly. We had only had earlier beach holiday experience in the end of June/beginning of July in Italy and we were a bit afraid that there might be the same vibe (overcrowded and very noisy), but actually it was quite the opposite. There was plenty of space throughout the day on the beach strip and also on the dock facing the hotel entrance (we were visiting Tolo 20-22 of June) and the atmosphere was rather quiet-relaxing. There were several good restaurants on the beach-side only a short walk away. As well, it was possible to rent a small motor boat for some hours to go and check out the neighbouring island and landscapes.

Built with stone and wood, Hotel Filoxenia includes a lounge with fireplace, a restaurant, a bar and a conference room. Incredibly comfortable beds. We slept very well. Great clean bathroom with a good shower. Lovely balcony. A set for making tea and coffee with everything you need. Great sauna in the spa, we were offered 30 minutes of use for free and loved it. We also loved breakfast! Good choice of sweet and savoury, even three varieties of honey to choose from, for example. Baked stuff like mini tiropita and croissants were very good.

I am a bit picky when it comes to hotels — I don’t like large, impersonal places and always look for boutique hotels with good design. This hotel was absolutely perfect. The rooms are spacious and simply divine. The breakfast was excellent as well, with both a buffet and à la carte options. And the staff… I honestly cannot say enough good things. Everyone was so kind, attentive, and welcoming — they truly made the stay even more special. If I ever return to the Peloponnese, I will absolutely make sure to stop here again.
