We had a great overall stay at the Sumba beach house in Sumba Island. The beachfront location was wonderful, and the staff, especially Jenie and Lillie, were sweet and attentive. The only suggestion is to add more food options as the current selection is a bit limited. Nonetheless, it was a memorable experience and will definitely come back!

There is a private entrance at the bed and breakfast for the convenience of those who stay. The bed and breakfast has family rooms. The staff were wonderful and the place was really nice. For this price in Sumba, it’s hard to find anything better. There were a few more insects in the room compared to places like Bali, but it wasn’t a big issue thanks to the mosquito net, which was in perfect condition despite what some other reviews mentioned. We stayed in two different rooms and had no problems.

Next to the ocean this place belongs to a community and is real, it is run by locals who will assist you with all your needs. The rooms are simple, but very clean and unbeatable for the price, even with AC. The ladies working there were so sweet and nice, they organized a pick-up from the airport, a scooter to rent, and I could even store my luggage with them while I was away for a few days. The breakfast was rich and also yummy dinner options available. I felt very good.

Fabulous setting, great food, a beautiful beach, very quiet, plenty of activities to do in the area

Located along the private Purukambera Beach, Cemara Beachfront Suite offers free parking facilities and rooms with ocean views. The hotel offers a free two-way airport shuttle service from Waingapu Airport, a 45-minute drive away. The place is just amazing if you wanna get away from the crowd and relax in heaven. They treat you like royalty and make sure you feel home from the first moment. The restaurant is sublime, the beach is on your doorstep and the staff are professionals and yet super sweet and caring. We rented a scooter from them and explored the savanna, waterfalls and traditional villages. On booking breakfast is mentioned to be 13 euro but in reality it is much cheaper. Food is super delicious and very affordable. I hope they start giving cooking classes in future.

At the resort, all rooms have a patio with a sea view. At Rua Beach Resort Sumba all rooms include air conditioning and a private bathroom. What we really liked is the hospitality in this resort. Ben helped us a lot with looking for nice locations to go to. The food was also really good. The owner is Italian so the pasta is on point. The room was clean with an excellent working AC (pretty special when in Indonesia if you ask me). The shower pressure and temperature were also perfect. Thank you and we hope to see you again!
