Situated in Newtown, 5 minutes’ drive from Ballyvaughan and Galway Bay, The Waters Country House boasts over 40 acres of farmland at the foot of the Burren Hills. Ailwee Cave, also featuring an underground river and a waterfall, is only 3km from the property. This property is the most beautiful, majestic space with breathtaking architecture. It is nestled into a hill with views of The Burren and the sound of flowing water is around every corner. There are several inviting common areas complete with fireplaces and the feeling of contemplation and peace. We topped off our eve with a whiskey at the “help yourself” bar. The next morning we visited the Ailwee Caves (a must see) and the 16th century tower house called Newtown Castle which is part of Burren College of Art - there was true student talent. Both places are a short walk or drive from The Waters Country House. This is a one of a kind B & B NOT to be missed and Wolfgang and Maria are the most gracious proprietors!

We had a great stay at Leenane Hotel. It's a very well maintained place with great rooms, excellent food and friendly staff. It's also dog friendly which is a rare thing in the area. What really stood out as well - the price we paid was more than fair.

Freiderike greeted us warmly with a smile, took the time to explain everything we could do in the area, and let us know when they’d be available. The surroundings were lush and green, and although it was quite cold outside, the room—as well as the shared kitchen and sitting areas—were warm, cozy, and inviting.
