This eco-friendly hotel, 30 minutes’ drive from Reykjavik, is surrounded by nature in the town of Ölfus. It offers free use of an outdoor wooden hot tub and arranges Icelandic horse riding tours on site. We were a family of 5 and the room we got was huge. We were all in one room and had 5 single bed. I think the whole place is just a stable turned hotel. Staff was so nice and the dinner and breakfast was terrific.

The erupting Great Geysir is a 10 minute-drive away. Thingvellir National Park is 35 minutes from Gullfoss Hotel. The Kjölur highland road is 2 km away and connects northern and southern Iceland. Reykjavik city centre is 90 minutes away. A modern hotel with good space and a nice location. Reasonable value (for Iceland), the breakfast was really great - best we had on the trip. Good communication & responsiveness. We also ate in the restaurant in the evening and it was very nice.

Offering free WiFi throughout the property, the non-smoking hotel has a hot tub. This is a lovely little hotel. It’s quite remote but the surrounding landscape is stunning. Our room was very comfy with lots of natural light. The food in the restaurant is also fantastic with good vegetarian options. We highly recommend
