This eco-friendly hotel, 30 minutes’ drive from Reykjavik, is surrounded by nature in the town of Ölfus. We were a family of 5 and the room we got was huge. We were all in one room and had 5 single bed. I think the whole place is just a stable turned hotel. Staff was so nice and the dinner and breakfast was terrific.

This highland hotel offers a restaurant with traditional Icelandic lamb and seafood dishes. Located by the Hvita River, it is just 3 km from Gullfoss Waterfall. WiFi is free. A modern hotel with good space and a nice location. Reasonable value (for Iceland), the breakfast was really great - best we had on the trip. Good communication & responsiveness. We also ate in the restaurant in the evening and it was very nice.

It’s quite remote but the surrounding landscape is stunning. Our room was very comfy with lots of natural light. The food in the restaurant is also fantastic with good vegetarian options. We highly recommend
