Hotel Hamar’s rooms feature minimalist modern design, heated floors and a private patio. All have private bathrooms with showers. We were only here for one night but we loved our room! We have agreed that if we come back to Iceland we would love to stay here for longer. Very modern and clean cabin with a little patio out back. They were even kind enough to call us when the northern lights were visible (we opted to be woken up if they appeared).

This hotel, opened in June 2013, is situated along the coast in Patreksfjordur, a fishing village in Iceland’s Westfjords. It offers an à la carte restaurant with a bar and daily breakfast buffet.

Minimalist design with modern furnishings decorates each Fosshotel Westfjords room. All have a flat-screen TV, blackout curtains and bathroom with a shower. Guests can enjoy views of either the surrounding mountains or fjord. Easy to find and right opposite the bay. Lots of parking. Good breakfast. Had a meal one night which was great and nice waiters. Good welcome at reception. A bakery just around the corner which sold rolls and provisions and pieces of pizza too. Most people visited the bird cliffs I expect judging from all the dusty cars. Worth the drive there and last day we visited the famous inland waterfalls at Dynjandi………which were amazing and loos there. Only signposted 2hen nearly there but you get an awesome view of interior and #nowline. Really good.

Set in Suðureyri, 21 km from Pollurinn Hot Spring, Fisherman Guesthouse Sudureyri offers accommodation with a shared lounge, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. With free WiFi, this 3-star hotel offers a tour desk and luggage storage space. Guests can have a drink at the snack bar. Everything! The room was a really good size and clean with a nice bathroom included. I wasn’t paying attention and ended up smacking my head really hard into a cement ceiling thing and the staff were really great in handling it! The manager came in and cleaned me all up and gave me some of those tape stitches since there’s not a hospital super close by. I really appreciated them and the way I was treated. Feeling a bit panicky about potentially giving myself a concussion while driving solo they helped calm my nerves. Can’t say enough good things about this place, and want to sincerely thank the staff for the way they treated me! (I didn’t give myself a concussion thankfully, just a good scar)
