This hotel, opened in June 2013, is situated along the coast in Patreksfjordur, a fishing village in Iceland’s Westfjords. It offers an à la carte restaurant with a bar and daily breakfast buffet. Easy to find and right opposite the bay. Lots of parking. Good breakfast. Had a meal one night which was great and nice waiters. Good welcome at reception. A bakery just around the corner which sold rolls and provisions and pieces of pizza too. Most people visited the bird cliffs I expect judging from all the dusty cars. Worth the drive there and last day we visited the famous inland waterfalls at Dynjandi………which were amazing and loos there. Only signposted 2hen nearly there but you get an awesome view of interior and #nowline. Really good.

Found along Route 1, this modern property is 30 minutes’ drive from Borgarnes. Facilities include the 9-hole Gianni Golf Course. All rooms have a satellite TV and free WiFi. The friendly hotel staff helped point out areas nearby the hotel that I could go to see the Northern Lights better. The dinner was great, very classy, and the breakfast had a good variety.
