Kaname Inn Tatemachi is set in Kanazawa, 800 metres from Kenrokuen Garden and 1.1 km from Kanazawa Castle. The hospitality and kindness of the staff really stood out to me. The staff makes you feel so welcome. They have recommendations on virtually anything you can think of—whether food, sights, or activities. These staff recommendations were nice because it shows that the hotel itself values the individuals' perspectives. The music bar was great. The aesthetic was clean and the location was fantastic because I literally walked everywhere from the hotel. The bed and pillows were some of the most comfortable I've had the pleasure of sleeping on in Japan. And the rooms were really spacious.

We were able to walk to dinner in under 15mins each night Incredibly helpful staff who booked dinner reservations for us. We followed a recommendation for a local oden spot and it became a real highlight of the trip. We would love to visit again! Parking spot was convenient.

We were a party of 10 and 2 family rooms could accommodate us comfortably. Love the interior design and layout of both rooms! Extras such as pyjamas for each guest and the laundry dryer function inside the bathroom were very thoughtful.

We had a truly unforgettable stay at this ryokan. From the moment we arrived, the attention and care from the staff were exceptional. We are especially grateful to the young woman who kindly assisted us in English—she was incredibly helpful and patient, especially since it was our first time staying in a traditional Japanese setting and we were a bit clumsy with the customs. Thanks to her and the whole team, we felt completely comfortable and welcomed throughout our stay. The room with a private onsen and sauna was absolutely incredible, offering stunning views that made the experience even more special. The traditional dinners and breakfasts were both delicious and plentiful—each meal was a true feast, beautifully presented and full of flavor. The area around the ryokan is also beautiful and peaceful, perfect for a walk or simply to relax and take in the atmosphere. We also really appreciated the convenient shuttle service to and from Kagaonsen Station—it made the logistics of getting there effortless. We wholeheartedly recommend this ryokan to anyone looking for a warm, authentic, and luxurious Japanese experience

This property was sublime. The service was impeccable, the food authentic and incredibly amazing, healthy, and delicious. The staff beyond courteous, but that is pretty standard for Japan :). The location was lovely, the accommodations gorgeous. Everything about this place really was the quintessential Japanese experience. I wish I could be back there. Thank you for such a magical stay.

The couple who run the place are so, so nice, and were able to accommodate my friend’s food allergies without any problems (which, if you know Japan, you know that that’s not always the case!). Plus, the breakfast we got was huge and totally delicious. But the real draw is that the house itself is BEAUTIFUL. I can’t stress enough how charming it is- everywhere you look there’s some lovely tchotchke or antique to discover, all very lovingly arranged. There’s a huge deck outside where you can sit and enjoy the sounds of nature; a massive bath that you can share with friends/fam or keep all to yourself; a room filled with the owners’ personal collection of Showa memorabilia; etc, etc. The rooms were pretty spare but perfectly suitable, especially given all the lounge spaces in the house. Overall AMAZING experience.
