Kaname Inn Tatemachi is set in Kanazawa, 800 metres from Kenrokuen Garden and 1.1 km from Kanazawa Castle. Great rooms, great location, clean and spacious for a hotel room. Great staff recommendations on places to visit and restaurants. Rachel's write ups on the website were a great guide to Kanazawa and her recommendations of ceramics shops and museums in the samurai district were a delight to visit. The bar downstairs great selection of music the shiso negroni was a favourite of ours.

Self contained apartment. Very spacious. It was nice to have a fridge and cooking utensils to be able to make dinner for a few nights as we'd been eating out at restaurants for a while already. The design of the property is lovely, it’s very traditional and is warm and minimalist. It’s located 5-10 minutes from the town where there are many nice places to eat and a short walk from the main attractions. The host is amazing and he owns a coffee shop and restaraunt 5 minutes away which serves lovely coffee & breakfast. Highly recommended.

The facilities were so perfectly clean and well well maintained and well equipped, especially the Onsen We stayed in a traditional Japanese room and loved it, including the futons to sleep on the floor The staff was extremely attentive, helpful and friendly. The dinner experience was the highlight of our Japan trip and I can only recommend it!

An unforgettable Ryokan experience that will remain etched in our memories. The culinary offerings—both dinner and breakfast—were exceptional, crafted with care and tradition. We had the distinct honor of being served by the fifth-generation chef of this family-run establishment, which has been in operation since around 1890. Surprisingly, sleeping on a futon was remarkably comfortable, adding to the authenticity and charm of our stay.

Located a 5-minute drive from JR Kanazawa Station, Ryokan Yamamuro offers Japanese-style guestrooms with free WiFi. Omicho Market and Kanazawa Castle Park can both be reached with a 5-minute walk. Virtues abound at this wonderful inn. The central location, the accommodating staff, the many room choices, the very nice onsen bath, the easy and pleasant common room, the perfect pillows and non-down comforters, the very quiet neighborhood. We stayed in the quiet second floor family room (with restrooms also on the second floor.) For what you get, this place is a bargain! Also, the incredible Kanazawa Curry Laboratory restaurant is only a few blocks away. Best three nights sleep we have had in years of visiting Japan!
