My room was lovely and even smelled good. The bed was extremely comfortable. The onsens at the property were incredible. Reserving the individual onsens was easy. The gardens were so charming and covered in moss. Each onsen had its own unique feeling. I wish I could have stayed there longer.

The service was exceptional and the staff made us feel very welcome and at home. We especially loved the home cooked meals which were so delicious and beautifully presented. The rooms were comfortable and cosy warm. The hosts were so lovely and helpful. We highly recommend staying here and would love to return.

Kurokawa Onsen Yama no Yado Shinmeikan features 5 hot-spring baths, including a 30-metre long cave bath. wonderful experience. everything done to make our stay more comfortable. Food fantastic

Situated in the centre of the Kurokawa Onsen Area and boasting a total of 8 indoor/outdoor hot spring baths, Nanjoen offers traditional Japanese-style accommodation with tatami (woven-straw) flooring... Gorgeous traditional ryokan, with beautifully appointed rooms—we had one of the en-suite onsen baths, and I highly recommend it! The dinners and breakfasts were sumptuous and almost too much food, all very delicious. The staff is friendly, impeccable, and very helpful. The area itself is also lovely, with plenty of shops and nearby onsens to explore.
