The property is non-smoking and is located 1.4 km from Nara Station. Everything! The location was amazing! The gentleman who helped us was so kind and helpful and accommodating!! The space was huge!!!! Traditional elements everywhere in the home, skinny stairs though! We've been in many hotels and houses in Japan these past two weeks and this was by far the best one! Highly highly highly recommend!
Ikoma
Offering a garden and city view, Shiroyama Ryokan is located in Ikoma, 8.9 km from Higashiosaka Hanazono Rugby Stadium and 12 km from Nippon Christ Kyodan Shijonawate Church. The 3-star ryokan features mountain views and is 8.8 km from Iwafune Shrine. The ryokan provides rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. I like it’s a small traditional Japanese family style hotel located in the middle of the mountain that’s still close to the town Ikoma by driving. The clear city view from the tea room is spectacular: we enjoyed the sight of the town with the high elevation and mountain range close by. The warm city lights at night and neighboring beautiful cherry blossoms and magnolia blended in the background of green hills under daylight are memorable. The host is also very accommodating: she speaks English and understands us well without too much trouble. On top of making arrangements for tea ceremony and kimono fitting (of course with additional charge), she can provide very good traditional Japanese breakfast. We didn’t try dinner there but I am sure it would be good. It’s about an hour drive away from Nara, Osaka, Tokyo, and other major cities in Kansai. Would highly recommend to people who want to experience what want to explore the city at daytime but want to experience a different vibe to stay outside of the city area at night.

Lovely staff and amazing food. So glad we had this experience.

Providing free private parking, the 3-star ryokan is 19 km from Nara Station. The property is non-smoking and is located 32 km from Subaru Hall. This is an original Ryokan still run by the same family. It far exceeded my expectations. What a lovely host. I was greeted warmly and given special attention to help me with my following day's plans to walk the Yamanobe Road. The Ryokan itself is perfectly situated close to Omiwa Shrine and the start of the journey. My tatami floor room had two parts, so it was not only spacious but beautifully and traditionally arranged with tremendous grace. The garden was right outside my room, immaculate and beautiful. I was treated to an excellent private hot spa bath in the evening, making it just the perfect stay.

Very cheap price for a double bed room with a private bathroom - check in and check out are extremely no-fuss, you just walk in and out. Room was actually bigger than the last budget hotel we stayed at. Very short walk from the station, great food places within walking distance too.
Great location and good price
Japan's Share hotels offer a very nice standardized hotel experience, as you know, what you will get. Good location between the park and city center.
Great central location - very close when coming from the train station. It is also easy to walk to city center and the sights there.
The building was old and had a great charme. The location was great, not too far from the main attractions but not in the noisy city center (especially at night). 10min on foot to the nearest train station and 15/20min to Nara park. A lot of interesting attractions all around.
Location was ideal: adjacent to the JR Nara station, yet isolated from the hustle bustle. A well-appointed grocery store was nearby as was a Starbucks located in a historic building. Hotel was similar to other 3-Star accommodations in Japan; compact yet full of modern amenities. Property was recently rebranded as a Spa, yet I didn’t take advantage of low-cost public bathing facility. Having a separate laundromat with microwave and beverage machine were added bonuses. Room had a work desk. WiFi was robust.
Great budget stay in a good location for visiting Nara park and a few of the most popular sights
Great location in the middle of the park, very friendly staff, big room. Very good price!
Amazing location, a bit far from the city center, but that's exactly what I liked about it. The staff was really helpful, giving tips about the surroundings and the person who checked me in even spoke fluent english which was a first on my trip. Also, the building and room itself had a real cozy vibe to it, which was nice.
We loved Nara and this hotel in particular! Deer in front, nice garden, central location, great food, nicest service doing all for you to help, just take a bike, nice library, drinks for free all day ( incl best sake), etc. All in all, loved it, good price/quality, recommend!
