They went above and beyond to help us celebrate our honeymoon. I was so grateful for how hard they all worked and how kind they all were. We also got the breakfast service in our room, which was excellent, and they provided several drinks in the fridge for us for free. They shuttled us from the station and back to it, and we were even sent off by the staff at the end of our stay. So friendly and welcoming. Also, our deluxe suite had the private open air bath, and I can't recommend that enough. It was so relaxing and incredible. Lastly, I personally loved the toiletries and additional things that came with the room (shampoo, straightener, beverages, yukata, pajamas, etc.)

We loved the tranquil scenery which overlooked Lake Biwa. Breakfast and dinner were exceptional and traditional. We stayed two nights and the meals were never repeated. We loved the in room outdoor onsen overlooking the lake and the massage chair was a nice touch. A very relaxing stay. The staff was very friendly and really tried to speak English to us. We had no communication barriers. Will definitely return and highly recommend this ryokan. Very memorable experience.

HOTEL R9 The Yard Koka ligger i Koka, 44 km fra Shoren-in-templet og 45 km fra Eikan-do Zenrin-ji-templet. Everything is good. We drove here so we can only review as travellers with car. The best is you can park your car right infront of the container, free parking. . Bed and pillow is comfy. Room is warm even in the winter. Opposite is a large mall, with a supermarket and some restaurants. We will recommend this if you are passing by this area and to visit ninja town (Koka) or Miho museum. There is a free meal (frozen pack - to cook in microwave oven.). We didn't eat that.

Hotel Route Inn Kusatsu Ritto -Ritto Inter Kokudo 1 gou- ligger i Ritto, 27 km fra Daigo-ji-templet og 28 km fra Shoren-in-templet. just a really nice hotel with really nice staff at the desk, varied breakfast buffet every day and just a ten minutes walk to Tehara station. I found it a great place for my daily trips to Kyoto, but i travel light, maybe with a lot of suitcases it's less easy.

The Gran Resort Oumi Maiko ligger i Otsu, 23 km fra Sanzen-in-templet, og har en have, en bar og gratis privat parkering. Right across from the beach. Had a great Onsen. Good Japanese style breakfast.
