Chami Villa Bentota is located in Bentota just 50 metres from the beach and 100 metres from Bentota Railways Station. It is one of the best places we have ever stayed in the world, let alone Sri Lanka! A very hospitable host and his dog Maya took good care of us. Rooms were huge and cozy with very high loft ceilings, you cannot really see that from the photos on the website. Breakfasts were incredible and featured different sorts of fruit, passionfruit included! Also, staying in this property gives you a good discount on surfing lessons on the beach, so me and my cousin rode our first waves. Just perfect, I recommend this place with all my heart and will definitely come back. ❤

Host and his family are very welcoming and able to help with everything you might need or want to do. Very good breakfast. Room is spacious and clean, and I think shower was the best I had in Sri Lanka. The place is just next to the railway but the trains don’t go during night hours. Personally I didn’t mind at all, but every now and then it’s a bit noisy.

This place is absolutely outstanding, one of the best we’ve ever stayed in. If you want peace and quiet and relaxation you won’t find better. The staff are excellent, nothing is too much trouble for them. We will definitely be back

Very nice, cosy and calm place. you will get a great view over the Bentota River for time of your breakfast and great service of the local staff. This is especially good for family with kids (like us, we are five )because these are two separate bungalows with a nice garden.

Located in a quiet setting, Village Headman's Five Bedrooms Entire Bungalow is a century-year old bungalow offering air-conditioned rooms with a private bathroom. I had a wonderful experience at the VHB Bentota. Property is clean & has a fantastic old time charm. Room was clean, high quality & very comfortable. The bed was super comfy. Staff was very hospitable and there for every need of mine. The food was absolutely amazing & best meal I had while in VHB. I will always stay at this location when traveling to Bentota. I highly recommend this bungalow for anyone visiting downsouth Sri Lanka.

It was a wonderful vacation! We stayed in this wonderful place in September. Henry, the landlord, made our vacation more than 50% better. We had a variety of local breakfasts, as well as our usual omelets and fried eggs, fresh fruit every day, and yogurt (we even agreed with Henry to buy Kourda on one of the days). We never ate dinner anywhere else but at his place (believe me, we tried it, but it was tastier at our villa). Thanks to the fact that we got together, we got discounts on our dinners, and we saved a lot of money. We weren't forced to use any unnecessary services, which is quite rare in Sri Lanka. The villa's grounds are diverse, with various animals such as peacocks, parrots, mongooses, and flying dogs. At night, the stars and fireflies appear as if in a cartoon. I also celebrated my birthday here, with a festive dinner featuring barbecue, a cake, music, and karaoke. I also tried lobster for the first time. The people who work there are extremely friendly and kind. It feels like we're all a big family. - Here's a brief overview of what I found most important: The area is large and green, with easy access to the road and tuk-tuk rides to the city center or the beach. There's no noise from the road, and no renovations or other annoying sounds. Everything is clean. The rooms are cleaned approximately once every three days, sometimes more frequently. They provide towels, bed linen, a hairdryer, and Wi-Fi. But we bought sim cards at the airport, sometimes the wifi didn't work well, but that's the case everywhere. It's better to bring your own shower gel and shampoo or buy them at the supermarket. There's a kitchen and cutlery. There's clean drinking water in the cooler. There's a mosquito repellent and coils. They'll help you with any issues. The service is excellent. The only minor drawback is the limited storage space. You can also get massages, but we didn't try it.
