The area is popular for cycling, and bike hire is available at this 3-star hotel. The rooms were very large and clean. The toilets were cleaner than expected. Everything was great. The host of the homestay was also very good to communicate with. Although we checked in very late that day, she waited for us all the time and provided us with large buckets of drinking water. That’s very helpful.

Free private parking is available on site. Friendly and helpful staff, good location for Safari and the rooms/ chalet was also great! The swimming pool was clean and great for a late night dip! The hotel owner arranged our safari and our tour guide was brilliant. The hotel restaurant was fantastic too and reasonably priced…breakfast was tasty and our evening meal was also very authentic! Definitely recommend, a hidden gem!

Beautiful and clean rooms that are connected to the main house but without having to go into it which gives you total privacy. Great location - only a few minutes from one of the beautiful lakes and less than a 10 minute walk to the shops. Also a great location to do the yala national park tours from. The owner and his family are lovely and helpful and made us feel very welcome. We were greeted with freshly made juices and tea and coffee each morning and each afternoon when we got home from sight seeing which was perfect after walking around all day. The owner was happy to help with all our requests and communication was great. Highly recommend.

We stayed in the deluxe double room with a balcony, and the view of the rice fields was absolutely stunning. The hotel also has a restaurant, and the food was both delicious and reasonably priced. They arranged a safari for us to Yala and Udawalawe National Parks, which was a great experience. Additionally, they offer a taxi service, making transportation easy. The entire family was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We would definitely come back!

Located on the edge of a rice field and a 5-minute walk from the shores of Lake Yoda, Gaga Bees Yala features free WiFi in public areas. This Eco friendly resort offers an outdoor infinity pool. Guests can relax on the terrace. Very nice eco kind of place. Clean, calm and situated in the countryside. Ok restaurant but could be a little improved, I would say a 8/10. (Please see the Flavors restaurant nearby to see what is a 10/10) although the pankakes for breakfast were absolutely amazing and also very good birnyami. Very nice safari with a really experienced driver really worth it. And the best of the best is the carrying manager. Doing everything so that we feel safe and comfortable. Awesome work!

I can’t recommend staying at Tara Watergate enough. The rooms are big, bright, spacious with large windows looking out onto the lake. The room was very clean, beautifully air conditioned. The staff were incredibly attentive and warm. They kindly organised a safari for us which was the highlight of our trip. I left something behind and the hotel sent it by tuk tuk to me — I am so thankful. The food was the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka, the chefs are very talented. The pool is clean and very refreshing to cool off in.
